The Cats Motel was built on the original Bapton Farm in the Withycombe area of Exmouth and has been an established cattery for over 35 years.
Paul and Hayley took over at the Cats Motel in November 2013. We have two grown up children, Ellen and Alex. We are a family of animal lovers and have had a variety of pets over the years and currently have two pet rabbits - Scooby and Shaggy. We have continued to build on the excellent reputation, which was already in place, with our own personal and friendly approach to cats and owners alike. Our aim is to provide a relaxing, stress free stay for all our feline boarders.
About Us
The Cats Motel staff are a caring and efficient team, committed to providing the best possible care for our boarders and we pride ourselves in helping even the most anxious cats to feel settled and safe during their stay with us. As well as Hayley and Paul, the team comprises Julie, Claire and Sophie.
Julie has worked at Cats Motel for over 12 years and in that time has established an excellent relationship with cats and owners alike – nothing is too much bother.
Claire joined us in 2021 having previously worked for Cats Protection and has brought additional expertise and passion to the team – she is particularly good at ‘cat photography’.
Sophie has been with us since she was at college studying Animal Care and has great cat handling skills. All are integral to the Cats Motel 'family'.
Paul has lived in Exmouth most of his life and attended local schools. Hayley is originally from Buckinghamshire but has lived in Devon for nearly 40 years (almost a local). As a family we share an interest in rugby and are avid supporters of Exeter Chiefs. Alex currently plays for Topsham Rugby Club. Hayley and Ellen have both been involved in netball locally for a number of years.
Paul and Hayley share the day to day running of the cattery along with our efficient team of cattery assistants. Paul is kept busy maintaining and upgrading the premises and Hayley has the additional responsibility of the upkeep of the garden to ensure a pleasant outlook for all and where cats are entertained by the variety of wild life who visit us here. Hayley is very proud to have won various awards each year in the Exmouth In Bloom competition for the cattery garden.
We welcome visitors to the cattery and are happy to show you round during opening hours, discuss any requirements and answer any questions you may have about boarding your cats with us as we know how important it is for you to have peace of mind and to feel confident that your cat is going to be well looked after during their stay with us.
